Throughout 2019, the AIB Network (Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters), will commemorate "Connecting People for 50 Years" with special programming and events. The "Best of AIB," a monthly series premiering January 3rd, will feature AIB's award-winning content. "AIB Classics" is a weekly series premiering January 5 featuring programs from the AIB archives. AIB will also host a special 50th Anniversary Celebration on May 23, 2019.
"At the height of the Civil Rights Era in the 1960s, AIB had one of the first television programs to bring teens together across racial divides. Today, we produce programming across a range of social issues and content which stimulates the mind, strengthens the body and inspires the spirit," said President-elect Audrey Daniels.
AIB Network has expanded from producing programs which aired on local network affiliate stations to a global network producing more than 170 hours of original programming. AIB reaches more than 2 million homes across North Georgia and around the world via AIB distribution channels on Comcast, AT&T U-verse, aibtv.com and YouTube.
AIB has also created partnerships and fostered connections across communities, faiths, and cultures, including partnerships with the United Way of Greater Atlanta, Fulton County Arts & Culture, and The Carter Center. From the Emmy-nominated "Sound of Youth" to the Emmy-award winning "World Pilgrims, A Sacred Journey to Turkey," and "Meet My Muslim Neighbor" which premiered in the wake of 9/11, the AIB Network has leveraged the power of video with excellence in storytelling to spark conversations and cross-cultural engagement.
Audrey Daniels, President-elect of the AIB Network, is available for interviews. Ms. Daniels has been named AIB's third President, following current President Collie Burnett, Jr. and founder, Rev. John Allen.
The AIB Network airs on channel 6 on AT&T U-verse, channel 295 on Comcast as well as live-streaming at www.aibtv.com. Follow us on social media at @watchaibtv on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates and behind-the-scenes photos.
