Synchronicity Theatre To Produce Family-Favorite Musical A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD ImageArnold Lobel's beloved characters Frog and Toad "hop from the page to the stage" in Synchronicity Theatre's A Year With Frog and Toad, December 7 - 30, 2018. This family musical adaptation of the popular children's books is suitable for children age three and up. For tickets or more information, please visit synchrotheatre.com or call 404-484-8636.

Winner of four Suzi Bass Awards, including "Best Musical" and "Best Director of a Musical" (Clint Thornton), Synchronicity's production of A Year with Frog and Toad is a musical re-telling of Arnold Lobel's easy-reader children's books from the 1970's containing humorous, sometimes poignant short stories chronicling the exploits of Frog, and his best friend, Toad.

A hit on Broadway, A Year with Frog and Toad was nominated for three Tony Awards - including Best Musical, and is known for its sophisticated lyrics, beautiful story, and hummable score by Robert and Willie Reale. This whimsical show follows two great friends - the cheerful, popular Frog and the grumpy, impulsive Toad through four fun-filled seasons in which they plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, A Year with Frog and Toad is a story of a friendship that endures - weathering all seasons.

A Year with Frog and Toad is directed by Jenna Tamisiea, and will feature music direction by Suzi Award-Winning Amanda Wansa Morgan (The Color Purple) and choreography by Jenise Cook. The cast includes Atlanta-based actors Matt Baum as Frog, Greg Hunter as Toad, Elliot Folds as Bird/Snail, Taryn Carmona as Bird/Mouse, Lyndsay Ricketson as Bird/Turtle.

Every Friday is PJs & Play! Kids are invited to wear pajamas and enjoy milk and cookies baked by Rising Roll Gourmet Café while watching the show.

Show times for A Year With Frog and Toad are Fridays at 7:00 p.m., Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. All performances will be at Synchronicity Theatre in Midtown Atlanta's Peachtree Pointe complex. Single ticket prices range from $21-31 for adults and $16-26 for children and are available online at synchrotheatre.com.

School matinee performances are December 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 20 at 10:00 a.m. School group tickets are $8-10 for weekday matinees. Group rates are also available. Groups of 10+ get a discount. Please contact Maddie Mahood at maddie@synchrotheatre.com or 404-484-8636 for detailed information.

For this production, Synchronicity has partnered with Literacy Action to create a three-session class as part of Partner's Family Literacy program. Each family that attends the class will receive copies of the Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury and will be given tickets to see the show as part of the class curriculum.

All AARP members will be able to see A Year With Frog and Toad at a special rate on December 15th at 1:00 p.m. They will also receive free milk and cookies and special seats in the house.

And Little Shop of Stories in Decatur will be selling copies of the Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury and will be hosting book-based events at the shop in December.

This production is generously sponsored by ADP and the Loridans Foundation.
