Serenbe Playhouse's "Season of Change" is in full swing and next up is Lee Blessing's political drama, A Walk in the Woods, directed by Head of Acting at Kennessaw State University, Harrison Long. A Walk in the Woods has already been named among Atlanta critic Andrew Alexander's Top 5 Arts Events for the month of June and the two person piece is brought to life by acclaimed Atlanta theatre actors, Allan Edwards and Robin Bloodworth.
About the play, Long says "A Walk in the Woods is a witty tug of war between hope and cynicism, between idealism and despair. Blessing's 1988 cold war drama has never been more resonant because we know what the characters don't - that the Berlin Wall crumbled long ago. But in an age of homegrown terrorists and sophisticated cyber-warriors, world peace has never been more tenuous. Lasting progress can never be made until we can look across the world (or the negotiating table) and recognize ourselves in one another. Despite all the global implications, at its core A Walk in the Woods is a play about friendship."

Revealing conversations, profound frustration and deepening understanding - two superpower arms negotiators, a Russian and American, meet in the woods of Geneva to negotiate nuclear disarmament. In A Walk in the Woods, the elemental differences in two systems of government will continue to exacerbate as long as the real power rests in the hands of those burdened by the bitterness of the past.
