Grab your Stetson and saddle up for a historical hoedown like you've never seen before! Featuring twangy tunes, tall tales and glory stories of American heroes, Paul Bunyan and the Tall Tale Medicine Show rolls into town at Center for Puppetry Arts, tonight, April 9- May 24. A musical extravaganza for the wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, Dr. Hezekiah Bigelow's Wild West Puppet Show is sure to spin tales taller than a 10-gallon hat!

From Paul Bunyan, the larger-than-life lumberjack and his invention of logging, to Hekeke who saves her tribe from a terrible people-eating ogre, these over-the-top tales of heroes and heroines are cleverly and humorously told for all ages. The telling of these puppet-infused sagas is an art form in and of itself as Dr. Bigelow embellishes the details with a little help from his tall tale tonic.

Adapted and directed by the Center's Artistic Director Jon Ludwig, Paul Bunyan and the Tall Tale Medicine Show features rod, shadow and hand puppets performed by puppeteers Dolph Amick, Reay Kaplan, Seth Langer and Stephanie Lloyd with live music performed by S. Renee Clark. All of the puppets, props and scenery were created onsite by the Center's staff.

Recommended for ages 4 and up, Paul Bunyan and the Tall Tale Medicine Show is presented in the Mainstage Theater April 9- May 24. Half-price preview days will be Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8 at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
