Out Front Theatre Company, Atlanta's leading theater that exists to tell stories of the LGBTQIA experience and community, is pleased to announce casting for the Southeastern premiere of Daniel Pearle's A Kid Like Jake, playing as part of the inaugural season from February 9-26.

On the eve of the admissions cycle for Manhattan's most exclusive private schools, Alex and Greg have high hopes for their son Jake, a precocious four-year-old boy who happens to prefer Cinderella to G.I. Joe. As the process continues, Jake's behavior becomes erratic and perplexing, and other adults in his life start to wonder whether his fondness for dressing up might be cause for concern. The story of a husband and wife struggling to do right by their son, A Kid Like Jake is a study of intimacy and parenthood-and the fantasies that accompany both.

A Kid Like Jake stars Lauren Megan McCarthy as Alex, Justin Dilley as Greg, Lisa Boyd as Judy and Kasie Slay as the Nurse. Brandon Muggy and Alissa Scherb serve as understudies for the production.

Paul Conroy, Out Front Theatre Company's Founder and Producing Artistic Director, directs this production with assistant direction from Jacob Demlow. Rounding out the production team are Brain Abernathy, production stage manager; Charles Swift, lighting designer; Michael Murphy, set designer and Stephanie Carter, costume designer.

"Lauren Megan McCarthy and Justin Dilley masterfully portray a situation that many parents come across while raising children," said Paul Conroy. "We strive to create conversations through the shows that we perform and I believe our cast and production have worked to create that opportunity."

Performances will run February 9-26, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 3 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased by calling 404-448-2755 or by visiting outfronttheatre.com. Ticket prices are $15 for children, $20 for students and seniors and $25 for adults.
