What do you get when you put a veteranarian, a banker, and a teacher on stage? We really don't know, but we'll be finding out when the NITWITS return on February 20th to Newnan Community Theatre Company (NCTC).
The NITWITS is NCTC's improvisational comedy troupe. The troupe includes a veteranarian (Jeff Allen), a banker (Stephen Marshall), and two teachers (Spencer Jordan, Trey Stephens), among many other talented actors. The group uses improv acting techniques to perform skits, often using audience suggestions to guide the performance. The television show "Whose Line Is It Anyway" familiarized many with short-form improv comedy. An evening with the NITWITS will be held on February 20 at NCTC. Each evening is different, with different troupe members and games being played. With improvisational comedy, you never know what's going to happen with skits being created on-the-fly and audience participation changing from show-to-show.
The show begins at 8 pm and the cost is $5 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from the theatre's website or at the door on the evening of the show. Reservations can also be made on the theatre's website, newnantheatre.org. Newnan Community Theatre Company is located at 24 First Avenue, Newnan, GA.
The NITWITS will have five shows in 2010, with the February 20th show being the first. Remaining show dates are April 10, May 29, September 11, and October 30. NCTC is located at 24 1st Avenue in downtown Newnan (at the corner of Long Place and 1st Avenue). For more information about the NITWITS or the theatre, visit their website or give the theatre a call at (770) 683-6282 for information on Current Productions.
