Motherhood the Musical Makes Its Atlanta Debut September 20 – November 20, 2011

 

The joyous journey and loving look at the blessings and perils of being a Mom is the subject of the new musical sensation, Motherhood the Musical^®.  The hilarious and insightful show will delight Atlanta audiences when it debuts September 20 – November 20 at the 14^th Street Playhouse.  The show is produced by GFOUR Productions, the team who has successfully brought Menopause The Musical^® to every major market in the United States.  Menopause The Musical^® is the longest running musical in Atlanta history and grossed close to $6 million dollars during the show's three-year run.

       

 "Motherhood the Musical^® resonated within my heart and deeply in my soul. I knew very quickly that it would do the same for audiences," says producer Kathi Glist. "I brought my mom and daughter to be part of one of the first readings and I loved how they both related to it and how my mom and daughter shared a bonding experience over this show. As a new grandma, I am revisiting what it means to be a mother as I watch my daughter grow into her role of motherhood."  But the show is not just for moms and grandmas… "Women should bring the men in their lives," says Glist.  "They will have a great time too!"

Motherhood the Musical^® is the work of author and #1 songwriter, Sue Fabisch and features the hilarious Top 10 Billboard Comedy Hit "The Kids Are Finally Asleep," the rousing "Costco Queen" and the tender "I'm Danny's Mom." This hysterical and poignant musical is a must-see for anyone who is, has, or knows a Mom and it will remind you that it's not just about Motherhood…it's about you. The four-member company will be directed and choreographed by Broadway's Lisa Shriver and the award-winning Johnny Rodgers will supply music direction & supervision, arrangements and orchestrations.

Motherhood the Musical^® was originally produced in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the fall of 2010 where it played a sell-out engagement.  The show will launch Nationally on June 3 in Tampa and other tour cities will include: Fort Worth and Richardson, Texas and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
