Guest conductor James Gaffigan will make his Atlanta Symphony Orchestra debut February 23 and 25, 2012, at 8:00 p.m., leading the Orchestra in a program featuring the Atlanta Symphony premieres of Haydn's Overture to L'Isola disabitata, and Thomas Adès's violin concerto, Concentric Paths, featuring violinist Leila Josefowicz. The program will also include the Prelude to Act One of Wagner's Lohengrin and Debussy's La mer. The performances will take place in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Mr. Gaffigan and Ms. Josefowicz recently collaborated for a performance of Concentric Paths with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in April 2009.

Prior to the concert on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., the Orchestra will host its third Symphony Social of the 2011-12 season at Shout restaurant in Midtown. Designed as a networking event for young professionals, the event will include hors d'oeuvres and specialty cocktails and the opportunity to mingle with Atlanta Symphony musicians. Tickets are $20, must be purchased in advance, and include admission to the evening's Orchestra performance. The Orchestra's final Symphony Social of the 2011-12 season will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012.
