On December 6, 2012 The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund hosted its Arts Fund Luncheon where it announced Horizon Theatre as one of the 15 nonprofit arts organizations receiving grants and support in 2012. For nearly 20 years, the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund has been supporting small and midsized arts organizations and has invested more than $10.2 million dollars in grants and guidance to strengthen the capacity and vitality of the arts in the region. Horizon received a grant for $75,000 toward general operating support.
“The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund’s investment in Horizon and our arts community has been truly transformational,” says Horizon Artistic Director Lisa Adler. “The operating support provided this year and since the beginning of the recent recession makes it possible for Horizon and others to pursue new business models and programming that will increase our long-term financial stability and maximize our community impact. Metro Arts is a catalyst for creating a sustainable, thriving arts community in Atlanta.”
Horizon is excited to continue to produce new plays that reflect and challenge the lives of the diverse people living in the urban Southeast that raise questions about and inspire positive change in the community with the support of the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund.
Horizon Theatre Company connects people to each other, inspires hope, and promotes positive change through the stories of our times. For more information about tickets, group sales, or to receive a season brochure, call 404.584.7450 or visit horizontheatre.com.
