Savannah Rep's 2023 mainstage season will open with the Broadway sensation ONCE, with music by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and a book by Enda Walsh. Originally a film directed by John Carney, this tribute to Irish resilience and culture will star Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Stacie Orrico and an ensemble company of actor-musicians in the heart of Savannah's legendary Saint Patrick's Day festivities.

ONCE is the story of "Guy", an Irish singer and songwriter who spends his days fixing vacuums in the Dublin shop he runs with his father, who is on the verge of giving up music altogether when a Czech immigrant, "Girl," walks into the bar, hears him play and refuses to let him abandon his guitar. Over the course of a week, Girl convinces Guy to believe in the power of his music and his love for the woman who inspired his songs, evolving into a powerful - but very complicated - love story. This production is sponsored by The Goode Family Foundation.

Joining Orrico as Girl and Ryan McCurdy as Guy will be Ethan Baker as Eamon/Emcee, Stephanie Colavito as Ex-Girlfriend, David Kirk Grant as Da, Trae Gurley as Billy, Luisa Nolasco as Baruska, Sadie Prenda as Bank Manager, Katrien Van Riel as Svec, Chris Stanley as Andrej, and Laura Zawarski as Reza. Jaelyn Buffkin and Piper Pursell will alternate in the role of Ivanka.

ONCE will run four performances only from March 16th - 19th at the Trustees Theater, 216 E Broughton St. Performances are Thursday at 8pm, Saturday at 2 & 7:30pm, and Sunday at 3pm (please note no Friday show). General Admission is $40 and Senior/Military tickets are $35. Tickets are now on sale at http://savannahboxoffice.com.

The production is directed by Francesca Mintowt-Czyz with music direction by Ryan McCurdy, stage management by Jon Goldstein, production management by Jennifer Bishop, lighting design by Stephen Cyr, set and sound design by Tom Haverdeane, costume design by Olivia Dakin, properties design by Rebel Clodi, and assistant stage management by Kat Pilkus.
