Georgia Shakespeare invites families to party like it's 1599 during Shakespeare's Birthday Party and Open House, Saturday, April 25, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Conant Performing Arts Center (4484 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30319). The event is free and open to the public and is recommended for children ages 3 - 12.

Highlighting the life and times of William Shakespeare, Shakespeare's Birthday Party and Open House will feature Shakespeare-themed arts and crafts (sponsored by the Junior League of Atlanta), face painting, stage combat demonstrations, jugglers and performances. In addition, children will have an opportunity to dress up in Elizabethan costumes, have their picture taken with the Queen, and enjoy birthday cake and other surprises.

Young visitors will also be treated to a visit from Alice of Alice in Wonderland fame. Georgia Shakespeare presents the Lewis Carroll classic story of a girl whose life gets "curiouser and curiouser" after she falls down a rabbit hole as part of its Family Classics Series July 18 - August 1 at the Conant Performing Arts Center. Discount Alice in Wonderland tickets will be available during Shakespeare's Birthday for only $10 each (regular price: $13). This offer is only available at the Georgia Shakespeare Box Office during Shakespeare's Birthday Party and Open House (may not be combined with other offers or used on previously purchased tickets).
