Georgia Ensemble Theatre Hosts ONE MYSTERIOUS EVENING Gala Tonight

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will hold its annual gala event "One Mysterious Evening" (formerly known as "One Enchanted Evening") tonight, September 28th, 2013 at the Kimberly-Clark Campus, 1400 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA. Attendees at this popular affair will honor Paul and Bowe Lang as the tenth annual recipients of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre Legacy Award.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre instituted the Legacy Award as a way to recognize those individuals, corporations and foundations that have made long-standing contributions of their time, talent and support to the Georgia Ensemble Theatre over the years. Past honorees include: GET Board President Robert Hagan; founding Trustee Peter Abreu; former mayor of Roswell W.L. "Pug" Mabry; dedicated GET supporters and arts advocates Congressman Tom and Dr. Betty Price; Curator of Fulton County's Teaching Museum North Jacque Coxe; community volunteer and former Georgia Ensemble Theatre Trustee Helen Owens; Roswell Rotary and Roswell Woman's Club; and long-time corporate partners, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Bank of North Georgia, Macy's and Northside Hospital. GET President Emeritus and Trustee Coe Hamling was named the inaugural recipient of the Theatre's Legacy Award.

"One Mysterious Evening" will begin at 6:30pm on Saturday, September 28th at the Kimberly-Clark Campus and will include Cocktails, Appetizers, a Hilarious Dinner Theatre Show, Silent Auction, a Four Course Meal, Wine, and the Legacy Award Presentation. The comedy-mystery dinner theatre production "Cat on a Hot Tin Streetcar," a laugh-out-loud spoof of Tennessee Williams' most iconic characters, was written and directed by Atlanta (and GET) favorite Nita Hardy. Nita is the exclusive writer for Mystery Cafe Indianapolis and writes and directs her delightful comedy murder mysteries from her online home at www.KillerComedies.com. The show features a lineup of fabulously talented actors: Hugh Adams - well-loved at GET for roles such as Charlie Baker in The Foreigner, and Sleuth; Karen Howell - a two time Suzi Award winner, Karen is perhaps best known for portraying Mama Sanders in every one of the Sanders Family shows at Theatre in the Square; Wendy Melkonian - another GET darling, Wendy wowed audiences in Forbidden Broadway and as Becky in Becky's New Car; Topher Payne - Atlanta's star playwright who gave us last year's hit Swell Party and has penned this year's upcoming world premiere of The Only Light in Reno; and Jelani Williams - a Florida A & M grad with many recent stage credits including Jitney and The Bad Seed.

Fun cocktail attire - no tie required! Janet Kincaid of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre Board of Trustees serves as Chairwoman for this gala event. About Legacy Award Honorees Paul and Bowe Lang: Paul and Bowe Lang, a devoted couple with a love for theatre, music, opera, and symphony have enjoyed strong ties since childhood when their families vacationed together at Stone Harbor. A member of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre since its inception in 1992, Paul-a partner with Edward Jones-selflessly mentors young financial advisors and tirelessly works with clients to maintain his firm's status as an industry powerhouse. As a forward-thinking, energetic pair, Bowe and Paul served on the Board of GET, and Bowe is currently a trustee for The Cottage School. Honoring Mary McLain Smith for lifelong devotion to theatre and the arts, Bowe has been responsible for Georgia Ensemble Theatre's golf fundraiser for many years. Paul's three children attended the GET Conservatory and loved the opportunities that shaped new generations of theatre enthusiasts. In July, Bowe's seven-year-old twin granddaughters eagerly participated in GET's Summer Conservatory and made memories they'll always cherish. Paul and Bowe's participation, leadership, and generosity are known in Roswell where they are benevolent donors to Rotary, The Cottage School, Bulloch Hall, Roswell Historical Society, Roswell High School, and foundations that enrich the lives of others. Because the gifts of the cultural arts should never be underestimated, it is no small wonder that the Lang's realize, "The souls of a people are defined by the roles they play in life which transfer to the stage for all of us to see, reflect, enjoy, and question."
