Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Greater AtlANTA, Inc. has approved a grant in the amount of $115,000 from the General Operating Support grant making program. Funds for this program come from the Foundation's Common Good Fund, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, Atlanta AIDS Fund and Spark Morgan! Fund.

In his comments on the occasion, co-founder and Artistic Director Robert Farley said, "I truly believe that the greatest accolade a nonprofit professional theatre can receive is support from the Board and staff of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. I can think of no other source of philanthropy that is so demanding in the details and so discerning in determining the organizations which will be eligible for their annual support. We are so very honored at GET to be the recipient of this generous grant, but just as importantly, the seal of approval and acknowledgement by the Board of the Foundation that Georgia Ensemble Theatre Company is a vital, stable and successful servant of the communities we serve."

Fresh on the heels of Georgia Ensemble's highly acclaimed opening production of GHOST the Musical, Directed by Robert J. Farley, this grant is a giant step forward for this established professional theatre as they move forward into their next three plays by, for, or about the heroism and journeys of American women, beginning with On the Verge or the Geography of Yearning, Directed by Carolyn Cook. This wise and whimsical production will be followed by Topher Payne's premiere of Greetings Friend Your Kind Assistance Is Required, Directed by Shannon Eubanks and Emily Mann's Having Our Say, the Delaney Sisters First One Hundred Years, Directed by Andrea Frye.
