Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will open its 2012-2013 20th anniversary season-long celebration tonight, September 6th with The Man Who Came to Dinnerby Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, directed by Artistic Director Robert J. Farley.

This exciting opening event is one of many celebrations launching the 20th anniversary for this growing north metro professional theatre company. Prior to the opening performance, Farley, along with staff and board members, will honor the Theatre's "Tenure Club" (subscribers for ten or more consecutive years) and induct the new "Emerald Club" (subscribers to GET since its founding) at a 6pm private reception at Nine Street Kitchen in historic Roswell. There will be a champagne toast open to the public in the Theatre lobby at 7:30pm to celebrate the season, followed by the opening performance of The Man Who Came to Dinner. The evening will continue with a post-show reception with the cast at Sugo.

About the Play: Two decades ago, Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) opened its doors with the classic Kaufman & Hart comedy, You Can't Take It With You. Now, 20 years and more than 100 productions later, we bring back another work from this great comedy writing duo as we launch our "Emerald" Anniversary with one of the most epic and clever American comedies to ever take the stage. You'll meet the irascible arts critic SheriDan Whiteside as he pays a visit to the Stanley household where Marx Brothers-like madness ensues with secretaries, ex-cons, cockroaches and penguins!

The Cast: The Man Who Came to Dinner will be brought to you with a cast of 23 Atlanta actors, including GET favorites from the 2012 hit show, Becky's New Car: Wendy Melkonian as "Maggie Cutler" and Allan Edwards as "SheriDan Whiteside." The production also features Shannon Eubanks who was in GET's very first stage production in 1992, as well as Tony Larkin who was in the first Conservatory class ever offered by GET. Also in the cast are: Aretta Baumgartner, Lyle Chadwick, Jim Dailey, Larry Davis, Jackie Estafen, Trevor Goble, Jim Gray, Wally Hinds, Steve Hudson, Kathy Kuczka, Matt Lewis, Shelly McCook, Alexander McCurley, Marcie Millard, Steve Miller, Corinna Rezzelle, Frank Roberts, Ann Wilson, and Jacob York.

Opening weekend festivities will continue on Friday evening, September 7th, with Bank of North Georgia Night as GET honors our corporate partner at the second public performance of The Man Who Came to Dinner. On Saturday, September 8th, the Theatre will hold its annual gala, One Enchanted Evening, at the Atlanta Country Club, where the GET Legacy Award will be bestowed on the Rotary Club of Roswell. For information on this and all GET events, call 770-641-1260 or visit us online at www.get.org.
