Fox Theatre's Saturday Soul Series continues with its final installment, "A Night of Classic R&B" with Grammy award-winning Lalah Hathaway and Atlanta's own award-winning songstress Avery*Sunshine, with multi-platinum artist Avant and Grammy nominated artist Jon B performing Saturday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m.

As a student at Berklee College of Music, Lalah Hathaway recorded her self-titled debut in 1990. By 2004, she had deliver her fourth album, 'Outrun the Sky,' garnering Hathaway her first number one single. Between album projects, Hathaway keeps her creativity nourished by taking to the global stage and contributing her voice to Daughters of Soul, a musical mélange founded by comrade, Sandra St. Victor, and featuring Nona Hendryx, Joyce Kennedy as well as Indira and Simone, daughters of Chaka Khan and Nina Simone, respectively.

Avery*Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds soul, gospel, jazz, and R&B in a signature mix. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. She released her self-titled debut album in 2010. She signed to Shanachie in 2013 and released her debut for the label 'The Sun Room' in May 2014.

The first act signed to basketball great Magic Johnson's Magic Johnson Music, Cleveland native Avant debuted in 1998 with the song "Separated." Avant released four albums through MJM, all of which were distributed by Universal and featured one major single. The 2003 album 'Private Room' produced yet another Top Ten R&B hit in "Read My Mind," and in 2006, he repeated the feat with the equally successful "4 Minutes." His new album, 'The VIII' is sure to capture true fans and R&B music lovers with his magnetic voice and beautifully, interwoven lyrics.

Songwriter, producer, vocalist, and instrumentalist Jon B brought a distinctive focus on smooth melodies to contemporary R&B. Influenced by music found in his grandparents' record store, Jon B began combining the spirit of '70s soul with hip-hop-inspired productions on his 1995 debut album 'Bonafide'. His second album, 'Cool Relax,' continued the emphasis on hip-hop soul and featured two of his biggest singles in 'They Don't Know' and the 2Pac-assisted 'Are U Still Down.' As an accomplished songwriter for other artists, he penned material for the likes of After 7, Spice Girls, Az Yet, and Toni Braxton.

The Fox Theatre is one of Atlanta's premiere venues for live entertainment and declared a Top Stop of the Decade by Venues Today Magazine and the #1 non-residency venue worldwide for the decade by Billboard Magazine. In April 2013, Rolling Stone Magazine announced that the Fox Theatre was one of "The Best Big Rooms in America" as part of their "Venues That Rock" series. In addition, the Fox Theatre was nominated for Theatre of the Year by Billboard and Pollstar Magazines, and awarded the Outstanding Historic Theatre of the Year award in 2011 by the League of Historic American Theatres. For the past decade, the Fox Theatre has been consistently ranked in the top three non-residency theatres in North America for gross ticket sales by industry trade magazines, Pollstar, Billboard and Venues Today.

The Fox Theatre has the #1 social media presence for any theatre or performing arts center in North America, for any venue between 2,000 and 5,000 seats, and for any Georgia venue according to the Social Media Power 100 compiled by Venues Today Magazine. The Fox's 4,665 seat theatre hosts 250 performances a year. An impressive range of events from rock concerts to Broadway, ballets, comedy and movies continue to attract more than 500,000 visitors per year.
