Aurora Theatre will brighten your holiday season with our original holiday musical spectacle Christmas Canteen 2010. This living Christmas card is filled with music that will evoke warm holiday memories. In fact, for thousands of North Georgians, it's just not Christmas until they hear their Canteen favorites like, Jukebox Saturday Night, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Silent Night, Winter Wonderland and so many more. Gwinnett County's longest running theatrical holiday tradition combines the sentimentality of television Christmas Specials with the high energy of a USO variety show. Christmas Canteen is a Cup of Eggnog for the Holiday Soul.

As always, Christmas Canteen 2010 pays tribute to the men and women of the United States Armed Services both past and present. This year's 15th Anniversary Edition of Aurora's sentimental musical review harkens back to its jukebox roots to span the best of the wartime Canteens mixed with new Christmas standards. For the 7th year, Aurora Theatre will also be working with the United States Marine Corps and their annual Toys for Tots drive. Our toy drive is an integral part of the Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees, now in its 4th year, decks the halls of Aurora Theatre with holiday cheer. Over 20 trees, decorated by local businesses and organizations, will be on display, theses trees range from the whimsically clever to the breathtakingly spectacular. In addition to toys, patrons are encouraged to contribute food that will be donated to the local food bank. Anyone can cast a vote for their favorite tree with a new unwrapped toy or a non-perishable food item to help ensure that everyone has a great holiday season.

Christmas Canteen 2010 boasts an amazing cast, including Canteen stalwarts Stacey Stone in her 10th Christmas Canteen and Brandon O'Dell in his 7th year of creating holiday memories. In the show for a 3rd time are Kenya Hamilton (A Catered Affair) and Jevares Myrick (2009-2010 Cobb Ovation Award for Outstanding Vocal Performer) ready to deliver dynamic performances.
The incomparable Eric Moore (Once on this Island) is back for a 2nd time, his first Christmas Canteen since 2006. Making her Aurora Theatre debut is Charity Brooke Smith recently returning from a three year run as Elphaba in Wicked at Universal Studios Japan. They are all under the music direction of Aurora Theatre Associate Producer and Resident Music Director Ann-Carol Pence (2010 Suzi Bass Award Winner for Best Musical Direction), who has been a part of each and every Christmas Canteen.

Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony Rodriguez, "This show is a very personal way for Ann-Carol Pence and me to show our appreciation for the supportive community that has helped to realize our dreams. Great music performed from the heart conveys our gratitude in the most sincere way."
