The Center for Puppetry Arts will host its annual String Fling Gala on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead. The gala, which raises more than $200,000 annually, benefits the Center for Puppetry Arts programs such as Field Trip Sponsorship, which provides approximately 70,000 deeply discounted and free admissions for children. Atlanta's most charitable residents are encouraged to support a cause that sparks the next generation's fervor for the arts!
This year's event, themed Fairy Tales Do Come True, is black-tie optional and includes a cocktail hour and seated dinner. Individual tickets are $200; tables for 10 include special recognition and are available for $2,500. Attendees will be treated to puppet improv by Hold the Foam Players, with live and silent auctions rounding out the evening's activities.
"With our upcoming renovation, we will have the ability to host larger crowds at the Center and allow more exposure to the world of puppetry," said Vince Anthony, Center for Puppetry Arts' executive director. "Benefits like our annual String Fling Gala make these opportunities possible, and we are grateful for the community's support in continuing the art of puppetry for years to come."
Sponsors for the String Fling Gala include The Coca-Cola Company, Fifth Third Bank and Isdell Family Foundation, with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, Merchant & Gould PC, Joan N. Whitcomb and Renee & Jim Schwarzkopf. Guests won't want to miss out on this exquisite evening that provides so much for children in the community!
