The Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) recently recognized Center for Puppetry Arts as a winner of the 2010-2011 Pinnacle Award. The Center has received this prestigious award for four consecutive years, each year since 2008.
The award is presented annually to organizations posting outstanding K-12 standards based interactive videoconferencing programs to www.cilc.org.To qualify for the award the provider must receive a minimum 2.85 average score out of a possible 3 on their program evaluations from educators during the school year. The evaluation assesses seven areas: two related to the effectiveness of the presenter and five related to the educational content of the program.
Center for Puppetry Arts uses the latest technology to offer nationwide Distance Learning programs for PreK-12, as well as professional development workshops for educators. Hands-on puppet building workshops are conducted via videoconferencing and are tailored to specific classroom topics and curriculum. The arts are infused with science, social studies, language arts and other disciplines to create a dynamic, interactive virtual classroom for a virtual field trip experience. Programs complement national curriculum standards in language arts, social studies, science, math and other areas. The Center provides a comprehensive study guide and materials list for most programs.Videos
