Center for Puppetry Arts Achieves Sold-Out First Run of Holiday Classic

 

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to Return as Part of 2011-2012 Season

 

 Artistic Director Jon Ludwig's adaptation of the beloved 1964 stop-motion animated special, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, won over Atlanta audiences this holiday season.  Today the Center for Puppetry Arts announced that all performances to date and all remaining performances through January 2 are now sold-out.  Licensed by Character Arts LLC, the show is one of the very first licensed stage productions of the timeless holiday story.

 

By the end of the seven week run of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer:

• More than 29,000 patrons will have seen the show
• A total of 91 performances  will have been presented
• The first reservation was booked nine months in advance, in March 2010
• More than 40 birthday parties will have been celebrated in conjunction with the show
• Approximately 110 groups from 30 school systems will have attended the show

Due to the overwhelming success of the engagement, the Center for Puppetry Arts has added Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as part of its 2011-2012 season. Tickets should go on sale in March 2011. Members of the Center for Puppetry Arts will be alerted first as to when tickets are available. Patrons are encouraged to sign up for the Center's email newsletter by visiting www.puppet.org, so that they may be alerted when tickets open for purchase by the general public. The Center for Puppetry Arts will soon announce the remainder of the upcoming 2011-12 season and educational programming.
