Broadway in Atlanta to Host Pet Supply Drive During THE WIZARD OF OZ, 6/21-26

In honor of Dorothy's furry friend, Toto, and the Atlanta premiere of "The Wizard of Oz," Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta will host a pet supplies drive to benefit Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption, a local nonprofit, no-kill shelter dedicated to providing a healthy and safe home for animals awaiting adoption. Since its start in 2000, the organization has saved 19,181 mistreated and unwanted animals by providing each pet with constant care, medical attention and training.

"Toto's Pet Supplies Drive" will take place during the limited engagement of "The Wizard of Oz" as part of the 2015/2016 35th anniversary Broadway in Atlanta season at the Fox Theatre, June 21 - 26. Throughout the week, patrons can drop donations in the collection bin located near the Broadway in Atlanta display table inside the lobby.

Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption accepts a variety of donations, and the organization has a specific need for the following items:

  • Paper towels
  • HE laundry detergent
  • Fleece Blankets
  • Science Diet Advance Fitness dog food
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Toys and training treats (cats and dogs)
  • Tidy Cat scoopable cat litter
  • Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Mother & Babycat dry cat food
  • Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Babycat instinctive dry cat food

Making a special weekend appearance, furry friends from Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption will be onsite at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, June 25 from 12:30 - 2 p.m. and 6:30 - 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 - 6:30 p.m. Patrons can meet the animals in the arcade area before heading inside, and for anyone interested in adoption, the Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption staff will be available to offer additional information.
