Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta is planning a holiday canned food drive in conjunction with the Thanksgiving week engagement of "Dirty Dancing," playing as part of the 2014/2015 Broadway in Atlanta series at the Fox Theatre, November 25-30. All week long, patrons can donate non-perishable items that will help The Salvation Army to serve Atlanta-area families during the upcoming holiday season. On Thanksgiving only, guests who donate three or more items can take advantage of a $20 discount (dress circle only) for that evening's performance.
"As a longstanding part of the Atlanta community, we are always looking for ways to give back," said Russ Belin, Broadway in Atlanta Vice President. "Families look for ways to celebrate each other on Thanksgiving - from enjoying dinner together to shopping to entertainment like seeing 'Dirty Dancing,' and this gives them an opportunity to simultaneously help community members in need as we move into the holiday season."
The $20 discount on dress circle tickets will be available only for the 7:30 p.m. performance on Thursday, November 27, and guests must donate three or more non-perishable food items in order to receive the discount. The offer is available beginning at 5 p.m. for walk up purchases at the Fox Theatre box office on Thanksgiving day. There is a six ticket maximum per person on discounted tickets , and three donation items are required for each discount. The canned food drive will continue throughout the weekend through the final "Dirty Dancing" performance on Sunday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m.
