Gabriel Dean was Atlanta's rising star in the real estate industry. In his mid twenties, he stood as CEO of the Dean's List Real Estate Consultants, earning more money than he ever imagined. In three short years, Mr. Dean experienced the roller coaster ride of this country's volatile real estate market. His experience as a successful realtor, gave him the impetus needed to craft his world premiere comedy, Buy My House . . . Please! Gabriel Dean, a graduate of Oglethorpe University, has enjoyed theatrical success having seen his work produced at Aurora Theatre, Dad's Garage Theatre, Actor's Express, Horizon Theatre and even his own company Relativity Theatre Concern. Currently, Gabriel is working on his MFA at the University of Texas-Austin, the recipient of the prestigious James A. Michener Playwriting Fellowship.

Buy My House . . . Please! is a product of a gifted young writer's ability to take a good natured stab at America's guilty pleasure, Reality TV. Like so many young couples today, Tim & Bryn Lark, find that pregnancy, unemployment and foreclosure have put a strain on their marriage. Is the answer to their problems Reality TV's favorite designer Shelby Whitstone or will reality trump Reality TV for a happy ending? One thing is for sure, the Larks need an Extreme Marriage Makeover or Tim will be Trading Spaces with The Bachelor.

Under the direction of Aurora Artistic Associate Susan Reid (Annie Get Your Gun, Duets), Aurora Theatre has assembled some of the funniest performers in the region. The cast includes: Matthew Myers & Bethany Anne Lind as the Larks, Bart Hansard as Bryn's estranged father, LaLa Cochran as TV icon designer Shelby Whitstone and Doyle Reynolds as the overly eager real estate agent, Peter Shaw. The play also features the professional debut of six-year-old Qayla Shipp, a kindergartener at Gwinnett County's Rock Springs Elementary School. Qayla has been studying acting at Aurora Academy and is one of Aurora's rising artists. In the spirit of a true reality television program, Aurora Theatre has set up a video confessional for the actors and is posting their confessions on our Facebook page.

With football in full swing, we wanted to do something great for the person who is not parked in front of the TV every weekend. Once again, Aurora Theatre will offer a Lunch & a Show package in conjunction with McCray's Tavern on the Square. Our Football Widows Special includes your choice of 8 popular lunch items, beverage, gratuity and ticket to a matinee performance of Buy My House . . . Please!. All for only $27, that is stimulus for both the funny bone and tummy.

We are also offering something special for our friends in the real estate industry. Just as homes for sale have an "agent's caravan" on Tuesday, we will offer licensed real estate agents a chance to attend a preview the Tuesday before we open on October 6 at 8pm. They will get in free with their business card. All other guests are $10.

Anthony Rodriguez, Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director, "Buy My House . . . Please! will be the first world premiere we have ever produced at Aurora Theatre. Having developed a great relationship with Gabriel Dean, he felt we were the best theatre to make his newest work a success. After I read it, I could see why. We have been helping him develop this script for the last year. In a few short weeks, we will be going to New York to see a new musical we have assisted in development. Although we are proud of our history, our plan was always to be a place where great new theatre is born."
