Aurora Theater Ends 2008-09 Series With Vegas-style Main Stage Extravaganza 6/12

Aurora Theatre will end their 2008-2009 club comedy series, Funny Fridays on June, 12 at 7:30PM with a Vegas-style main stage extravaganza. The show will feature our signature act, The Blacktop Circus - the nation's leading African-American improvisational comedy troupe. Because the show is based on audience suggestions, every time you see The Blacktop Circus, it is a fresh new show, and this performance will feature a live band too. Just when you think you have had enough of the hilarious improv games, scenes and songs, members of The Blacktop Circus will delight with sensational stand-up routines.

The very next night, Saturday June 13, at 8:00PM, Aurora Theatre Swing Nights featuring Metro Jazz Club celebrates summer with a fun evening of music. The Metro Jazz Club is a smokin'-hot 17 piece band accompanied by a sultry chanteuse, the magnificent Maxine Cummins. Your hostess for the evening will be Aurora Theatre Associate Producer Ann-Carol Pence. If you have never heard her perform, do your ears a favor and come to the show. The concert will also feature recording artist and one of the stars of Once On This Island, Eric Moore - a soulful tenor whose voice is proof of a higher power. The summer concert is full of musical surprises. Metro Jazz Club, while rooted in the big band era, will include big band favorites (Stompin' at the Savoy, Tuxedo Junction), but also give the swing treatment to some unexpected selections (Rock This Town, Saturday In The Park).
