Aurora Theatre has assembled the best children's performers in the region, bringing them to Gwinnett County in order to give parents and their children a chance to experience their artistry in our amazing facility in downtown Lawrenceville.
Aurora Children's Playhouse has a special treat for St. Patrick's Day weekend welcoming The Story Ship from Savannah with the amazing show Leaping Leprechauns on March 12 at 10:00AM. Leaping Leprechauns is a rollicking Irish show full of music, magic and interactive animation. Leaping Larry the Leprechaun steals all the rainbows of the world. Audience members must assist Story Ship creator
Sean Driscoll to capture him, but it won't be easy because Larry has a few tricks up his sleeve. Before the day is saved they will need to solve riddles, sing songs and do magic tricks to get the rainbows back.
That Puppet Guy - Lee Bryan returns to Aurora Children's Playhouse on March 19 with his hilarious puppet show The Zany Zoo. Among the myriad members in this merry menagerie, you'll thrill to the antics of a frog on roller skates, a weightlifting bear, a juggling dog, a bumble bee ballerina, and even a belly dancing bunny! Be sure to watch closely because this delightful assortment of colorful characters comes to life, cabaret-style, in full view of the audience.
On March 26, The Singing Storyteller and New York Times Best Selling Children's Author, Eric Litwin returns with Pete the Cat and Other Stories. Get ready to sing, dance, laugh and fall in love with books. Mr. Eric's dynamic performances are fully interactive. He plays many instruments including the guitar, banjo and harmonica. Mr. Eric shares musical stories which inspire and delight the listener. He has played at Lincoln Center as well as schools and libraries across the country. Children often come up on stage and sing. Mr. Eric will share Pete the Cat stories including his best selling book I Love My White Shoes!
The Aurora Children's Playhouse series features: puppeteers, magicians, storytellers, jugglers and musicians intended for youngsters to have their first theatrical experiences. At about 45 minutes in length, perfect for the young attention span, these lively performances are fun for the whole family. Aurora Children's Playhouse performances are held on select Saturday mornings at 10AM unless otherwise noted.
