After a month-long search and hundreds of entries via social media, Atlanta's Fox Theatre announces the winner of the Fox Theatre Biggest Fan contest, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the community effort that saved the iconic theatre.
Sharon Frank, lifelong Georgia resident and frequent visitor of the theater for more than 50 years, is the grand prize winner and recipient of a prize package, including two Delta vouchers and tickets to a Fox Theatre Broadway show of her choosing.
"We were looking for the Fox's biggest fan and we've found her. From first her date in 1967 to today, the Fox has continued to be in Sharon's life and she in ours," said Allan C. Vella, Fox Theatre's President and Chief Executive officer. "Fans like Sharon make all of our efforts to preserve and share the Fox worthwhile. We are humbled that she - and everyone else who entered our contest - have made, and continue to make, the Fox Theatre a part of their lives."
In the winning entry, Sharon wrote about her fondest Fox memory - her first date with her husband in 1967 to see the movie Hotel. They were engaged later that year and recently celebrated 46 years together.
"I will always have a special fondness for the Fox... I feel like I am a member of the Fox family," she said.

The contest stemmed from a yearlong celebration the Fox Theatre launched in September to thank its hometown in honor of the 40th anniversary of the "Save the Fox" campaign. The original campaign began when the mayor's office, citizens, students, and local businesses fought to save the legendary landmark in 1974.
"It was difficult to choose just one winner," said Carmie McDonald, Community Engagement Manager. "We received so many great submissions from fans across the nation - from proposals and weddings to family traditions and group gatherings. The Fox Theatre wouldn't be where it is today without the continued support from all of our fans."
Sharon will receive a prize pack including:
The yearlong campaign, called "The Legend Lives On," also includes a block party, gala celebration event, "Fox in the Box" educational partnership with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), a special Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival event, and a lineup of performances including memory-making shows from Atlanta-native Jeff Foxworthy and "One More For the Fans! - Celebrating The Songs & Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd," a musical tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
