The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and the Atlanta Business Chronicle today announced they will partner to host the first "Battle of the Biz Bands" - a competition to find the best band of any genre in the metropolitan Atlanta business community.
The competition, which will take place in January 2014, will benefit the ASO and its education and community programs. Judges for the competition will be announced at a future date.
"The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is known for bringing great, live, musical experiences to the people of Atlanta. We are proud partners with the business community in this city, and we look forward to collaborating with the Atlanta Business Chronicle to showcase the musical talent of Atlanta's businesses," said Atlanta Symphony Orchestra President and CEO Stanley E. Romanstein. "Since the proceeds of this event will benefit the ASO and our education and community engagement programs, this event is also a great opportunity to reinforce the impact music has on kids, their educational success, and their career success. Once a musician, always a musician."
"I've been hearing for many years, from many local executives, how much music talent they and their staff members possess," said Atlanta Business Chronicle Publisher Ed Baker. "It's now time for our business community to display its true talent and seize the opportunity to show us who's the best in the business, because there's no business like show business."
Additional details about the competition, as well as the online entry form, are available at atlbizband.org. The application deadline for all bands is Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 11:59 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and will be available on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
