It's 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiance?e leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a lifetime, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
In the role of ROBBIE HART is Atlanta favorite, Chase Peacock. PEACOCK most re- cently appeared in The Legacy Theatre's regional premiere of DADDY LONG LEGS as well as Serenbe Playhouse's acclaimed TITANIC, and brings his remarkable talent to stages consistently all over Atlanta. His critical acclaim in the Atlanta Lyric's DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS solidified him as a gifted comedian and he holds a Best Actor Suzi for his remarkable work in Serenbe's MISS SAIGON. ROSA CAMPOS plays the wide-eyed, darling bride to be, JULIA. CAMPOS has previously appeared in AIDA at the Lyric and audiences will quickly fall in love with her stunning voice, engaging stage presence and undeniable star quality. A recent graduate, Atlanta can look forward to this young woman becoming their next favorite leading lady.

As part of Artistic Director Mary Nye Bennett's initiative to employ all female directors for 2019, Jessica De Maria makes her Atlanta Lyric Directorial debut. Familiar to Atlanta audiences as a writer and performer, De Maria May be remembered by Lyric audiences for her roles in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, DAMN YANKEES, EDGES and most re- cently as part of YOUR HAPPY HOLIDAY. Says De MARIA about the show, "it's hilarious, and energetic, nostalgic and fun. But it's also love story about two people who choose to be together for all the right reasons-despite being told by the society around them that those aren't the best ones...and what a great story that is!" She is joined by Music Director Paul Tate and beloved choreographer Ricardo Aponte. EMMIE PHELPS THOMPSON puts her own stamp on the 80s through costumes and LEE SHIVER-CERONE and BEN RAW- SON complete the team with an inventive scenic and lighting design that makes this produc- tion undoubtedly unique.
