ArtsBridge Announces 2018-2019 Field Trips, Master Classes, College Fair And Family Programs  ImageAs teachers and parents begin preparations for the new school year, ArtsBridge invites you to include arts education experiences for your students and children by booking Field Trips, Master Classes and Family Programs. With subjects ranging from music and math, to science and dance, there is something to please everyone. These high-quality, cultural and educational performances are presented by nationally and internationally renowned dancers, singers and artists, and are geared towards various grade levels from K-12. And don't forget about the free Performing & Visual Arts College Fair! ArtsBridge programs take place at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339.

"We are excited to present engaging and inspiring educational arts programs for students of all ages," states Sarah Clay Lindvall, Director of Arts Education and Community Outreach at ArtsBridge Foundation. "Our Field Trips are tied to Georgia Standards of Excellence and the Common Core, and we welcome public school and private school groups as well as homeschoolers. Our Master Classes provide opportunities for professional and personal development, and our Family Programs are a great way to introduce younger children to the joy and magic of live performances."

Aladdin (Master Class) - September 22 at 10 am

Students will take their dance and performance skills to new amazing new heights in a Broadway Connection Master Class. Join us for a Musical Theatre Dance class taught by a cast member of the touring production of Aladdin. The class includes a warm-up, combinations in the show's style of choreography, and an informative "Behind-the-Scenes" Q & A where students are encouraged to ask about auditions, Broadway, and the thrill of performing every night! Appropriate for grades 6-12.

Artrageous (Field Trip) - October 4 at 10:15 am & Noon

Watching a team of artists painting at electric speed right before your eyes, accompanied by amazing vocals, creative choreography, high energy live music, and unforgettable audience interaction, is an experience you'll never forget! This is Artrageous. Giant artworks come to life with amazing speed unveiling larger than life icons and masterpieces, all the while there is constant activity on stage, delighting your senses. Appropriate for grades K-12.

Dance Theatre of Harlem (Field Trip) - October 12 at 11 am

An informal presentation on the art and science of classical dancing, a lecture/demonstration is a fun and accessible introduction to ballet. Specific exercises that develop jumping, turning, partnering, lifting and dancing on pointe are demonstrated and explained. An audience participation segment in which members of the audience are invited to the stage to try some of the movements or test the similarities between social dance and ballet is included. Throughout, excerpts from Dance Theatre of Harlem's repertoire demonstrate how the elements that have been discussed come together to create the magic of dance. Appropriate for grades 3-12.

The Phantom Tollbooth (Field Trip) - October 17 at 10:15 am & Noon

Adapted from Norton Juster's beloved, award-winning children's book, this is the exceptional tale of Milo, Tock and a certain magic tollbooth. Surrounded by dozens of toys, Milo is bored. Nothing interests him until he takes a trip through the Phantom Tollbooth. Transported to the Land of Wisdom, Milo is thrust into adventure when Princesses Rhyme and Reason need rescuing to bring peace between two kings. The kings, from Dictionopolis and Digitopolis, are feuding over whether "words" or "numbers" are most important. Knee-deep in danger, language and math along the way, Milo learns everything has a purpose. Upon his return home, he realizes there is never a reason to be bored in a world of discoveries. Appropriate for grades K-6.

Free Performing & Visual Arts College Fair - October 29 at 6 pm

In partnership with NACAC, ArtsBridge hosts the only arts-focused college fair in the state! College bound students are invited to meet with admission representatives from 100 colleges, universities, and conservatories specializing in music, dance, theatre, visual arts, graphic design, and other related disciplines, to learn more about audition and entrance requirements and financial aid. Don't miss this incredible opportunity.

West Side Story presented by The Atlanta Opera (Field Trip) - November 2 at 10:30 am

Celebrate Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday with a special FREE performance of the full production of West Side Story for students! A timeless tale of love at first sight. Two teenagers are drawn together across a crowded dance floor, believing love can conquer all, including differing backgrounds, languages, warring gangs, and miscommunication. Inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story has captivated audiences since its debut in 1957. Appropriate for grades 9-12.

Sesame Street (Family Program) - November 16-18 (various times - check web site for details)

Jump to the beat with your friends on Sesame Street! Introducing an all-new, interactive show that unfolds on one of the world's most famous streets at the funniest, furriest party in the neighborhood. This is a perfect show for preschoolers and the perfect way to introduce young children to live performances. Appropriate for all ages.
