Guest conductor Lionel Bringuier - the Resident Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic - will make his Atlanta Symphony debut leading the Orchestra in a program featuring Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra as well as Dukas's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, made popular by Disney's Fantasia.

Cellist and MacArthur "Genius" Grant winner Alisa Weilerstein will also make her ASO debut playing Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1. Ms. Weilerstein's debut album, released in North America in October 2012, features the Elliott Carter and Elgar Cello Concertos with Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Staatskapelle.

The concerts will take place April 11-13, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Prior to the concert on Thursday, April 11, 2013, the Orchestra will host its second Symphony Social of the 2012-13 season at Shout restaurant in Midtown beginning at 6:30 p.m. Designed as a networking event for young professionals, the event will include hors d'oeuvres and specialty cocktails, and the opportunity to mingle with Atlanta Symphony musicians. Tickets are $25, must be purchased in advance, and include admission to the evening's Orchestra performance.
