Actor's Express is pleased to announce a collaboration with Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory during the 2016-2017 season. Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory will produce Hairspray and Wizard of Oz, as well as a Winter Student Showcase on the Actor's Express mainstage. Fabrefaction's productions feature a dynamic mix of established and emerging professional artists with FTC's conservatory students. Actor's Express interns will have the opportunity to work on these productions in addition to their traditional internship duties.
"At Actor's Express we value new and diverse voices. This partnership will allow us to deepen our engagement with emerging artists and bring new patrons to our venue. We are very excited to have Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory with us next season," said Actor's Express Managing Director Alex Scollon.
"Fabrefaction is elated to partner with one of the theaters that has inspired us most since our founding and to be back in West Midtown. Actor's Express' mission exemplifies the core values we instill in our student artists, and we can't wait to expand the Fabrefaction Family," said Christina Hoff, Founding Artistic Director of Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory.
Since our founding in 1988, we have sought to nurture the next generation of playwrights through workshops, readings, and full productions of new plays; to develop and nurture Atlanta's artistic community through theatre training; to catalyze the dialogue essential to the vitality of our neighborhood and our city; and to enhance Atlanta's reputation nationally as a thriving center for live performance. Season 29 will be announced in April 2016 and will include five mainstage productions and multiple new play and emerging artists programs. Actor's Express is located on the west side of Atlanta in the King Plow Arts Center at 887 W. Marietta Street, Suite J-107, Atlanta, Georgia 30318.
Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory is a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 2007 that conserves the art of theatre through training Atlanta's next generation of artists and arts advocates. Students in elementary school through college apply intensive technique work garnered in conservatory classes to innovative and collaborative professional performance opportunities.
