Actor's Express Receives $15K Grant to Support 'FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS'

Actor's Express has been awarded a grant of $15,000 from Turner to support its production of Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3).

Managing Director Alex Scollon comments, "Actor's Express is thrilled to have the support of Turner along with its commitment to Atlanta's arts and culture scene and enthusiasm for telling the stories or our time."

Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) is the acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-nominated trilogy by Suzan-Lori Parks. Offered his freedom in exchange for fighting for the Confederacy, a slave named Hero follows his master into the Civil War. His epic journey takes him through the battles of war, and he comes to discover the cost of freedom, the heartbreak of love and the enduring power of home. The production runs May 13 - June 11, 2017.
