Neil Simon's irresistible romantic comedy comes to The Academy Theatre just in time for Valentine's Day!
Barney Cashman (Rob Raissle) is a successful restaurant owner and family man who, after 22 years of happy marriage, decides it's high time for him to have an affair. He attempts to lure various women to become his paramour. Not as easy as it sounds.
He targets Elaine Navazio (Lynna Schmidt), a hard-edged lush; a free spirited Bobbi Michele (Fracena Byrd); and Jeanette Fisher (Kay Bohan), the wife of Barney's best friend. However, with Barney's missteps and bumblings hilarity ensues.
"We had such success with Plaza Suite and Love Letters last season, I think the fans will enjoy this show as well," says Lynna Schmidt, whose performance in Academy's Grace & Glorie is still receiving rave reviews.
Fracena Byrd, Marketing Director for Academy Theatre, adds, "This show is perfect for the Valentine season! And I'm excited to be returning to Academy's stage!" Fracena's previous Academy shows include Neil Simon's Plaza Suite, also directed by Schmidt, and Yellowman, directed by Brenda Porter.
This show is not suitable for young audiences.
Henry Arts Alliance will be sponsoring a special wine and chocolate reception for Stockbridge performances. A special Dinner and a Show package will be offered at one of the Hapeville performances, featuring an exclusive three-course menu at Volare Bistro.
