Last season's laugh out loud holiday hit returns to Lawrenceville this winter for a repeat engagement. The hilariously festive show The 12 Dates of Christmas takes Aurora Theatre audiences on an adventure into the mishaps of one woman's journey back into the dating scene, tonight November 29 - December 20. Staring Jaclyn Hofmann, written by American Shakespeare Center's Ginna Hoben and directed by Kelly Criss, this limited four-week engagement is perfect for date night, ladies night out or to celebrate the holiday season in a perfectly exceptional way.
A comedy that has a lighter, more contemporary take on the traditional Christmas story, The 12 Dates of Christmas has the charm and humor of a great romantic comedy. While watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mary is devastated, as she watches her fiancé kiss another woman on national TV. Over the next year, Mary is set up, hooked up, strung up and fed up as she stumbles back into the dating scene. Many will relate to her humorous mishaps, as the dating world isn't always as jolly as it may seem.
"The 12 Dates of Christmas isn't a classic Christmas tale but it skillfully captures the magic of the holidays in a decidedly funny way," said Anthony Rodriguez, Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director.
The dazzling Jaclyn Hofmann shines brightly as the star of this one-woman show. Hofmann serves as Aurora Theatre's Director of Education, returning to the stage as Mary for a second season. Kelly Criss Felten directs and leads the production team of Britt Hultgren Ramroop (set), Stephanie McCoy (props), James M. Helms (lighting) and Daniel Terry (sound/ technical director).
Recommended for teens and adults, The 12 Dates of Christmas is presented November 29-December 20, 2014. Tickets range from $20-$30. Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.auroratheatre.com or by calling the Box Office at 678-226-6222.
