The new season on Broadway will begin with fireworks the day after July 4th when the musical [title of show] begins previews at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W. 45 St) on Saturday, July 5th prior to its official opening night on July 17th.  [title of show] -- a most original American musical about the making of an original musical -- will be produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, Laura Camien, Roy Miller, Kris Stewart and The Vineyard Theatre, where [title of show] had its Off-Broadway debut in 2006.

Tickets to [title of show] on Broadway will go on sale Monday, April 21.

[title of show] is written by Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell and is directed by Michael Berresse [title of show] on Broadway will star the musical's original cast -- Jeff Bowen, Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff and musical director Larry Pressgrove.

[title of show] takes a thoroughly unique and comical look at the pleasures and perils of the artistic process as two struggling writers and two struggling actresses take on the seemingly impossible task of creating a new musical about creating a new musical. Now with Broadway as their destination, the quartet's saga continues anew as they face mounting pressures and deadlines, and are nearly thrown off-track by disagreements, day jobs and insecurities in this funny and unforgettable look at the birth of a musical as it finally comes to life on the Great White Way.

Mr. McCollum, who as producer of Rent, The Drowsy Chaperone, Avenue Q and In The Heights is certainly no stranger to the unbridled hopes and raw nerve depicted in [title of show] says, "I fell in love with [title of show] because it shamelessly and fearlessly explores the vagaries and inner workings of how to get a musical produced.  The exuberant way it captures the insanity of the creative process is full of surprises and truth, and that its journey now comes full circle by kicking off the Broadway season seems only natural."

The indomitable spirit depicted by both the play and its players has demonstrated broad appeal to theater goers of all ages and stripes since [title of show] debuted in 2004 at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, followed by its Off-Broadway debut in 2006 at the Vineyard Theatre.  Jeff Bowen, Hunter Bell, and Michael Berresse each won a 2006 Obie Award for their work on [title of show].

Those who have already seen [title of show] and the thousands of others who have enjoyed its wildly popular internet series "The [title of show] Show" will be delighted by its arrival on Broadway.  (To view episodes on "The [title of show] Show," log on to www.titleofshow.com/toscasts.htm) Thus far in eight riotous episodes that echo the unbridled originality and humor of the musical itself, "The [title of show] Show" has chronicled the anticipation and angst the creators/cast have experienced while plotting the show's path to Broadway.
An Original Cast Recording of [title of show] is available on Ghostlight Records.  The Broadway recording of [title of show] is presently being planned.

This Broadway transfer of [title of show] reunites the original Off-Broadway creative team including Neil Patel (set design); Chase Tyler (costume design); Ken Billington and Jason Kantrowitz (lighting design) and ACME Sound Partners (sound design).

In addition to [title of show], producers Kevin McCollum and Jeffrey Seller are also producers of the Tony Award-winning musicals Rent and Avenue Q and this season's In The Heights.
