The musical [title of show] - one of the hits of the summer theatre season - has extended its Off-Broadway run 3 more weeks through October 1 at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street), it was announced by the show's producing team, Kevin McCollum, Laura Camien and the Vineyard Theatre.
[title of show] - "a hilarious and bittersweet musical about the creative process and the indomitable spirit of two struggling writers and two struggling actresses who take on the seemingly impossible task of writing a new musical in just three weeks," as press notes describe the show - is written by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen. Mr. Bell and Mr. Bowen are featured in the cast, as well, joined by Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff, and musical director Larry Pressgrove. Bowen, Bell and Berresse received 2006 Obie Awards for their work on [title of show].The newest 3-week extension for [title of show] -- originally scheduled to run through September 9 -- is the latest chapter in a merry saga that began two years ago when [title of show] was the breakout hit at the 2004 New York Musical Theatre Festival. The musical had its critically acclaimed debut Off-Broadway at the Vineyard on February 15, 2006, and extended three times for a total run of 11 weeks.
