|the claque| (Artistic Director/Founder, Nick Leavens) announced today that The Mac Off, the ever-popular, ever-growing, ever-cheesy macaroni & cheese competition, will be held at Littlefield in Gowanus, Brooklyn on Sunday, November 2nd. For the fifth year in a row, this s-mac-k down is going to draw chefs from every corner of New York City as they prove whose cheesy concoction is the best of the boroughs. Every cheese you can name, be it cheddar, goat, manchego, brie, or haloumi, can be in the mix as our chefs test their magnificent macs on our hungry patrons. With this classic favorite drawing in the hungry hoards, |the claque| is excited to partner with Littlefield, utilizing their vast industrial performance space for more diners, more chefs, and, most importantly, more mac.
For $20 at the door (or $15 in advance), patrons get to try all the macs, wash them down with a cold beer, and vote for their favorite dish. Aside from vying for the title of most delectable macaroni, the chefs face off for the fabulous prizes awarded to first, second, and third place. Proceeds go toward |the claque|, your favorite arts and performance conglomerate.
Advance tickets are available at: http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/697743
We'll be accepting chefs from all different walks of the culinary path through October 26th.

Littlefield (622 Degraw Street, Brooklyn) littlefield is a performance and art space in Brooklyn's Gowanus neighborhood nestled between Park Slope and Carroll Gardens. Housed in an old, 6200-square foot warehouse dating from the 1920s, littlefield merges the Gowanus' industrial past with a sustainable future. These elements include a landscaped interior courtyard, sound walls formed from recycled rubber tires, a bar built from salvaged bowling alley lanes, and energy supplied by wind power. Future projects include a grey-water system and a landscaped roof that will reduce littlefield's footprint to virtually zero while providing fresh ingredients for our menu. Owners Julie Kim and Scott Koshnoodi hope their vision of opening up a diverse performance and art space will serve as a beacon for the Gowanus as development continues to rejuvenate the neighborhood.
The Mac Off is an annual event for |the claque| coming up on the heels of Some Like it Cold, our summer soup competition. Other programming includes the Quick and Dirties, a series of developmental workshops geared towards shepherding plays from readings to full productions, |the claque| reads series, which will continue through the winter, Bring Your Own Eggs, a series of panels, master classes, and salons aimed at bringing artists together and heightening the discourse surrounding their work, and The (IR)regulars, a live serialized comedy about the trials and tribulations of the temping world.
