So you wanna be in a Broadway show? Think you got the vocal chops to be the star of the new Broadway musical, The Wedding Singer? Well now's your chance to prove this by recording your own version of the show's hit song "Grow Old With You" on ksolo.com, a new karaoke website that offers people the ability to record, play and email their own recordings of their favorite songs. The Wedding Singer is the first Broadway show to participate on ksolo.com, and is the proud sponsor of the site's entire catalog of 80s tunes.

Released by Masterworks Broadway on June 6, 2006, marking the first CD from this new label, The Wedding Singer opened April 27, 2006 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, and was the recipient of five Tony® Award nominations including Best New Musical.

Produced by David Leonard (Duran, Duran, John Mellencamp, Paul McCartney), David Lai and Matthew Sklar, the original cast recording of The Wedding Singer features a dynamic cast starring Stephen Lynch as Robbie Hart and Laura Benanti as Julia, along with Richard Blake, Kevin Cahoon, Felicia Finley, Rita Gardner, Matthew Saldivar and Amy Spanger. Directed by John Rando and choreographed by Rob Ashford, The Wedding Singer features original music by Matthew Sklar, book by Chad Beguelin & Tim Herlihy and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. The musical director is James Sampliner.

In this original musical, rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party, the ultimate master of ceremonies, the unlikely hero of every party and a true believer in the power of love – until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie becomes a newlywed's worst nightmare – a wedding singer bent on destroying other people's weddings. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection and helps Robbie pick up the pieces of his broken heart. The only hitch is that Julia is set to marry a Wall Street shark. Unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a lifetime, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

The recently combined Sony Classical/Columbia Masterworks and RCA Victor, as part of the Sony BMG merger, led to the formation of Masterworks Broadway, which houses one of the most formidable catalogues of cast albums anywhere, with recent titles such as Tony winner Avenue Q, and Grammy-award winners The Producers and Hairspray, as well as the treasured original cast recordings of West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Sweeney Todd, Company and Sunday In The Park With George, among many others. Masterworks Broadway is pleased to announce The Wedding Singer as the debut recording on this new label.

The original cast album of the new Broadway musical The Wedding Singer, suggested list price of $18.98.
