jackbenny Comes to The Triad This Sunday

This Sunday twin brothers Jack and Benny Lipson, aka the critically acclaimed jackbenny,will make their solo (duo) debut in their show Happiness is Trending. Thus show is at the Triad Theater, 158 West 72ndStreet - 2ndfloor (off Broadway) NYC NY 10036 on Sunday, August 19, at 7:00 pm. The show will feature special guests drummer Spencer Inch, guitarist Adam Moezinia, trumpeter Alphonso Horne, LA's premiere singing drag queen Anita Procedure, and musical theatre legend Valerie Perri.

Happiness is Trending spotlights the musical prowess of Jackand Benny Lipson, aka jackbenny.The Los Angeles-native twin brothers are composers and multi-instrumentalists who inject musical theatre storytelling into the gamut of artistic styles. Heralded as, "sensational, clever, and astute," their progressive and fresh harmonic language informed by jazz and classical roots complements their progressive, savvy lyrics.

They explore queer identity, consent, climate change, and myriad other contemporary social/cultural phenomena. In two acts of iconically provocative originals, uniquely arranged covers, and their signature sibling shtick, jackbenny guides audiences on a candid tour through the fragile, well-curated millennial mind.

The Lipson brothers shared their debut show in 2016 with musician-comedian Reggie Watts, and have since played sold-out concerts in Los Angeles. Also they presented their 'musicalette' Miranda, Please! at the Wyoming Theater Festival, and also in Falam, Myanmar at the Chin Cultural Festival. In November 2017, Lifetime commissioned Jack and Benny to arrange Burton Lane and Ralph Freed's "How About You."

This was featured in the holiday special Snowed Inn Christmaswith Bethany Joy Lenz. The Lipsons are developing The Brainstorm, a three-character musical theatre song cycle of jackbennyoriginals scheduled to be unveiled in September at LA's Rockwell Table and Stage.
