boom! theater company Presents New Works Festival, 2/9-4/28/12

boom! theater company has announced that the next major project produced and generated by the company will be the first ever boom! New Works Festival taking place at boom! theater in South Lake Union. This new project will feature over a dozen new art and performance pieces created by the company as well as several performances from artistic collaborators and friends. We've got boys lost at sea, Lewis and Clark, and everything from Mt Everest to a two and a half month long living installation complete with an apple tree and rows of corn. Of course there will be a boozy party during each part of the festival.

In Seattle boom! is creating a multi-disciplinary arts festival where artists can connect, collaborate and offer their new work to the public. Recently boom! sent out a Call to Artists to collaborators, friends, and other creative individuals so outside artists can present something (art installations, graffiti, performance art, dance, theater) at this event. After proposals are gathered boom! will accept as many artists into the festival as possible. The artists will be able to perform their produced work in our space for free and take a significant portion of the ticket sales for the performances they produce.

boom! believes in this city and the exciting new art created within it. We hope that through this festival we can make it easier for artists to produce their work. Stay tuned in for more information about the specific pieces in the New Year.
