ZVIDANCE presents the World Premieres of BEAR'S EARS and DETOUR at New York Live Arts, 219 W 19th Street, NYC from December 19-22, 2018. Performances: Wednesday at 7:30pm (gala performance, $100, www.zvidance.com/tickets/), Thursday and Friday at 7:30pm; and Saturday at 2pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $25 ($20 for students and seniors), and can be purchased online at https://newyorklivearts.org/event/bears-ears-detour/.
Bear's Ears aims to raise awareness of the current controversy surrounding Bear's Ears National Monument in Southern Utah. While designated as a National Monument by President Obama, Bear's Ears is now a symbol of the American Indian's struggle due to the current Administration's attempts to reverse Obama's designation. Detour reflects on the longer, less direct way to get one from here to there.
