Jerry Zaks will helm a revival of Herman Wouk's 1953 courtroom thriller The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial for the 2005-2006 Broadway season.

Although neither casting nor a theatre has been announced,
Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel (Glengarry Glen Ross) are confirmed to produce the play, which is based upon Wouk's 1951 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and concerns the naval trial of Lieutenant Queeg after having been accused of mental instability and mutiny.

The original production of The Caine Mutiny opened at the Plymouth Theatre on January 20, 1954 and ran for 415 performances.  Directed by theatre and film legend Charles Laughton, the play featured Henry Fonda and Lloyd Nolan.  The play ran concurrently in 1950 with its classic film version, which starred Jose Ferrer and Humphrey Bogart.  The cast of a1983 Circle in the Square revival included John Rubenstein and Michael Moriarty; it ran for 216 performances.

Wouk's other novels include The Winds of War, War and Rembrance and Marjorie Morningstar.  As a playwright, his The Traitor and Nature's Way were staged on Broadway in 1949 and 1957, respectively.
