Zahaira Curiel has been cast in the role of India Ramos in a first look and listen of BREATH TO BREATH, a new musical about heroes, New Yorkers, growing up, comic books and finding a place to breathe, with book and lyrics by Michael Wells-Oakes and music by Max Balton, on Monday, Dec 4 at 7pm.

In BREATH TO BREATH young high school student India Ramos (Curiel), and her family battle overwhelming grief stemming from 9/11. Meanwhile, Subway Girl battles Dust Monster for control of the City! Will the Ramos family survive. . . will The City?

Zahaira Curiel made her off-Broadway debut in PLATANOS AND COLLARD GREENS and is a recent graduate of Hunter College in Music, member of R.Evolución Latina and the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors. Zahaira also works with Statement Arts, collaborating on their program Empower Youth Through Performance.

The staged reading will be directed by Omar Perez (In 5 Beats/LaMama and Pregones/PRTT) and presented as part of the 29th Street Playwrights Collective New Reading Series, an early developmental group supporting new work for stage.
