Grease will be the word at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27th at Broadway's Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street) when NBC continues its search for the lead roles of Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko in its new talent competition series "You're the One That I Want."

Open casting calls will also take place in Chicago and Los Angeles for a chance to star in the new Broadway production of Grease, which will open in June 2007.  Grease co-creator Jim Jacobs and the production's director/choreographer Kathleen Marshall are set as judges.

Producers are seeking individuals 18 years of age and older with singing, acting and dancing abilities.  Candidates are asked to prepare two songs: one from a selected list of Grease songs and one non-Grease song of their choice.  Prospective participants should visit NBC.com for further details and a complete list of approved Grease songs - as well as other suggestions from the era.

The first to arrive in line will be given priority wristbands and guaranteed to be seen by the casting producers.  Those not receiving wristbands will be allowed to audition if time allows (access dependent upon location turnout).  Callbacks for successful candidates will be held on Saturday, October 28th.

The 1971 musical Grease, by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, "is the all-American musical, based on the sub-cultures of high school life in the 1950's.  The show takes place at the hyperactive Rydell High School, where Danny Zuko fronts his gang - the raucous T-Birds - who romance their sassy female equivalents - the Pink Ladies.  When 'good-girl' Sandy Dumbrowski arrives in town, the Pink Ladies take her under their collective wing," state press notes.

"You're the One That I Want" is a produced by BBC Worldwide Productions.  Al Edgington ("Last Comic Standing", "The Amazing Race") and Lou Stroller (Tomb Raider, The Rock) and Paul Telegdy, SVP Programming and Production BBC Worldwide are the executive producers.
