This year the Young People's Chorus of New York City under its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will give two performances of its eagerly anticipated Spring Family Concert at the 92nd Street Y.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City was founded 25 years ago on a mission of diversity and artistic excellence by its artistic director Francisco J. Núñez, a MacArthur Fellow. Today, YPC is in residence at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, and has become one of the most celebrated and influential youth choruses in the world. YPC receives invitations to perform from presenters on four continents and this summer will tour Hong Kong, Shanghai, and six Japanese cities, including Tokyo, where it makes its Tokyo Philharmonic debut.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City at Washington Heights (YPCWH) was established this past November and is an expansion of the YPC mission of bringing together children of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to sing at the highest artistic level. YPCWH is the first of several community choruses YPC will be creating around the city.
