The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) announces casting for Fables from the Lunar Bin and Boynton Beach Club, the next offerings in its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series this November.

Fables from the Lunar Bin has a book by Alfa-Betty Olsen and Marshall Efron (based on their book, Sin City Fables), with lyrics by Fran Landesman and music by Simon Wallace. Fables from the Lunar Bin will be presented today, Tuesday, November 3 at 7:30 PM.

The cast of Fables from the Lunar Bin features Alan Campbell (Sunset Boulevard), June Gable (Candide), Garth Kravitz (The Drowsy Chaperone), Gina Milo (Les Misérables), Susan Mosher (Hairspray), David Rasche (To Be or Not to Be) and Bob Stillman (Grey Gardens). Stuart Ross (Enter Laughing, The Musical) directs.

Fables from the Lunar Bin is a hilarious revue complete with sketches, songs, and an impossible love story. Set on a city street, The Woman in the Moon looks down on her city and calls it The Lunar Bin. The people who live there tell the stories of their lives... and everybody's story has a moral and a happy ending, you just have to look at it the right way. Love - sacred, profane, successful or foolish - is celebrated, and even The Woman in the Moon is tempted.

Boynton Beach Club has a book by Susan Seidelman, music by Ned Paul Ginsburg, and lyrics by Michael Colby. Boynton Beach Club will be presented Thursday, November 19 at 3 PM and Friday, November 20 at 3 PM.

The cast of Boynton Beach Club features Tyrone Aiken, Adinah Alexander (The Wedding Singer), Bethe Austin, Joan Barber (Follies), Stephen Berger (The Pajama Game), Susan Bigelow (Footloose), Tovah Feldshuh (Irena's Vow), Jerold Goldstein (How to Succeed...), Jeff Keller (The Phantom of the Opera), Heather MacRae (A Catered Affair), Tim Shew (Bye Bye Birdie), and Cheryl Stern (The Women). Gabriel Barre (The Wild Party) directs.

Visit sunny Florida and join the surprisingly sexy and often hilarious members of the Boynton Beach community, who demonstrate that life after 50 isn't what it used to be. Boynton Beach Club is a funny, tuneful and poignant musical about aging Baby Boomers who overcome life's sorrows and dive back into the dating pool. Book by Susan Seidelman (Desperately Seeking Susan), music by Ned Paul Ginsburg (orchestrator for Liza's at the Palace) and lyrics by Michael Colby (Charlotte Sweet).

The York Theatre Company was nominated for five 2009 Drama Desk Awards, four Lucille Lortel Awards, two Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Drama League Awards for its productions of Enter Laughing, The Musical and My Vaudeville Man! last season. York Theatre Company is one of the only companies in the city committed to developing and producing new Musical Theatre Works and rediscovering musical gems from the past. Winner of a special Drama Desk Award for developing and producing new musical theatre, York's intimate, imaginative style of producing both original and classic musicals has resulted in critical acclaim and recognition from artists and audiences alike for almost four decades. Under the guidance of Artistic Director James Morgan since 1997, the York has focused exclusively on new musicals in its Mainstage Series-most of them world, American or New York premieres-by some of the field's most esteemed creators and has also helped launch the careers of many talented new writers.

Each year, York's Developmental Reading Series presents between 30 to 40 readings and workshops of new musicals by emerging and established authors, all free of charge and open to the public. Reading Series Coordinator Jeff Landsman says, "These readings give writers a unique opportunity to get audience feedback while a show is still in progress and gives audiences an active role in the creative process." York's productions of Souvenir and The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) were first developed in the Developmental Reading Series, where the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit Avenue Q also made early appearances.
