York Theatre Adds on 2nd Performance of Sold Out NEO2

Due to overwhelming demand, and with the 9pm performance sold out, York Theatre Company has announced an additional performance of "NEO2," a benefit concert celebrating emerging musical theatre writers, at 6:00pm on Monday June 12th at its home in Saint Peter's Theatre.

The concert follows the first "NEO," which took place three years ago. The benefit will feature performances by Stephanie J. Block (The Boy From Oz), Kathy Brier (Hairspray), Jed Cohen (Is There Life After High School?), Eden Espinosa (Wicked), Christopher Fitzgerald (Wicked), Barrett Foa (Avenue Q), Leah Hocking (Hairspray), Cheyenne Jackson (All Shook Up), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Spelling Bee), Janine LaManna (Sweet Charity), Sally Murphy (The Wild Party), Christiane Noll (Jekyll & Hyde), Phylicia Rashad (Bernarda Alba), Barbara Rosenblat (The Secret Garden), Steve Routman (Victor/Victoria), Michael Rupert (Falsettos), Jim Stanek (Lestat), Cheryl Stern (The Women), John Tartaglia (Avenue Q), and more. York Theatre is producing the evening in conjunction with event producer Margot Astrachan and creative producer Scott Alan. As with the first concert, it will be recorded by JAY Records.

Among the emerging composers/lyricists featured will be Jill Abramovitz and Joy Son, Scott Alan, Barbara Anselmi and Will Randall, David Austin, Neil Bartram, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Eli Bolin, Sam Davis and Georgia Stitt, Andrew Gerle, Jeff Hochhauser and Robert Johnston, Joe Iconis, Jihwan Kim and Sean Hartley, David Kirshenbaum and Adam Overett.

The York Theatre Company just received a special Drama Desk Award for its "vital contributions to theatre by developing and producing new musicals."
 
The York Theatre Company is located at Saint Peter's Theatre in the Citigroup Center, 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue. Tickets range from $125 to $500.
