YOU'VE BEEN JAMES'D!
Chasing The Impossible With Magician James Warren
Part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival
One Night Only: July 28, 2016 at 8:00 PM
at the WORKSHOP'S MAIN STAGE & JEWEL BOX
312 West 36TH STREET, NYC
Following the advice of the White Queen in "Through The Looking Glass," who always tried to believe six impossible things before breakfast, magician James Warren takes the audience on a quest for the impossible - and finds it, most amazingly, in the ordinary things around us.
James Warren will be sharing some of his favorite impossible things, honed through more than a decade of performing at the private club for magicians in Hollywood, California - "The Magic Castle." Along the way, magic is interwoven with anecdote, as James answers the questions he is most often asked: "How did you get into magic?" and "Have you ever screwed up a trick?" and "What does magic mean to you?" You may not leave the show enlightened, but you will leave delighted, amazed, and with lots to think about.
While the skyline currently glitters with theatre festivals, there was a time when the Midtown International Theatre Festival was one of only two! John Chatterton has helped set the gold standard for presenting new and exciting independent theatrical works in New York. This year - with a booming variety section, a prominently-placed Short Play Lab, a burgeoning Short Film Lab, nearly 60 productions - with a record number of musical presentations (including an opera) - as well as an astounding number of international works, the 17th Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival once again proves itself to be one of the best reasons to stay in New York in July!
