Writer Michael Whaley Passes Away

Michael Whaley, who co- wrote the book of the long running Off Broadway hit, Boobs! The Musical: The World According To Ruth Wallis, died October 26, 2011 in Las Vegas. The cause of death is unknown.

Boobs! The Musical opened at the The Triad in New York City on May 19, 2003 to critical praise and eventually transferred to Dillons Reprise Room; by closing date it had played nearly 300 performances. It had subsequent long runs in New Orleans and Wichita.

Lawrence Leritz was producer and choreographer, Donna Drake, director. The book adaptation was written by Michael Whaley with Steve Mackes . Boobs! first had a workshop at The Pulse Ensemble Theatre on Theatre Row in Dec. 2000, which Whaley co-produced with Leritz.
