The World Science Festival presents "Science & Story: The Art of Communicating Science Across All Media," which will explore the communication of science on the page, on the screen, and on the stage, and illuminate the process of translating science into compelling narratives for each format.
Some of the foremost interpreters of science for the general public - including Pulitzer Prize-winning authors, Nobel laureates, bestselling scientists, and distinguished actors and musicians- will discuss how their narrative crafts help to place science at the center of popular culture.
Five separate sessions throughout the day will cover topics including: Science on Screen with key documentary filmmakers; Science Storytellers with successful authors; Improvising Science, a master class with
Alan Alda for scientists who want to communicate their work more engagingly; and Telling Stories in Print and on the Web, featuring science journalists and bloggers.
WHO: Guests include Pulitzer Prize winners E.O. Wilson, Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, Jonathan Weiner and Natalie Angier, Nobel Prize winner
