New Off-Broadway theatre company The stageFARM has announced its inaugural production: The world premiere of Drug Buddy, a play by David Folwell (Rattlestick Theatre's Boise). Drug Buddy begins performances Wednesday, September 27, 2006 for a limited engagement through Saturday, October 21 at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street between Barrow & Bedford streets). Opening night is Saturday, September 30 at 8:00PM.

According to press notes, "Drug Buddy is about staying up all-night and waking up transformed into the person you never wanted to become." Wade is recovering from a night of firsts: His first drug experience, his first sexual experience, his first brush with death. It's been an eventful night, if only he could remember it. Wade's best friend Bodie remembers only enough to know that they need to get out of Texas. Fast!"

The show will be directed by Alex Kilgore. The cast features Jesse Hooker, Carrie Shaltz, Jake M. Smith and Matt Stadelmann.

Drug Buddy will play: Tuesday - Friday at 8:00PM and Saturday at 3:00PM & 8:00PM. Tickets are $37.50 and are available by calling SmartTix at (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com.

The stageFARM will launch their new company with a gala event on Wednesday, September 13 at Fat Baby (112 Rivington) on the Lower East Side. Additional information may be obtained by visiting the website at www.thestagefarm.org.
